Good Shepherd CenterGood Shepherd Center serves anyone in need who comes for assistance. If we do
not have the funds available, we will do all we can to refer to someone who can help. Many of our clients
have families on the reservation, but live on the streets of Farmington. We have a drop-in center where coffee and someone
to talk with are available all day. Folks can come in, rest, be insulated from the pressures of the street
and the weather, make local phone calls and store their belongings. Sandwiches are served on Saturdays and whenever
the local soup kitchen is closed. Our thrift store offers low-cost clothing for all customers;
and gives clothing free of charge to those who cannot afford to pay. The thrift shop income is used to help any person
who needs it in an emergency situation that is not provided for by other agencies.
Our staff has recently led the endeavor to establish a fund supported by local churches which is used to assist stranded transients.
We will always have time: no office task is as important as someone who needs a caring person to help when resources
can't be found on one's own, or when what is needed is a good listening ear and encouragement. Good Shepherd Center is like
a chameleon, ever changing, to match solutions to situations, one person at a time.

Besides a special theme, such as vaccinations in the Fall, there are checks for high blood pressure, diabetes and AIDS.
You can find us translating forms in Navajo and Spanish; fielding phone calls for the hearing impaired;
supplying clean socks, school clothes and food to families in need; helping fill out immigration and citizenship forms;
